James W. Boening

WILLIAMSON/PALMYRA: Boening, James W.; died on Thurs., April 18, 2024 at the age of 66. Family and friends are invited to call from 4-6pm on Mon., April 22 at the Robert L. Yost Funeral Home, Inc, 123 W. Main St., Palmyra. A memorial service will be held at 5pm on Tues., April 23 at the First Baptist Church of Manchester, 54 S. Main St, Manchester, NY with a reception immediately following in the church dining hall.      Jim was born on December 31, 1957 in Sidney, NY the son of William H. and Helen Mae Haney Boening. He had attended Franklin Central Schools in Franklin, NY and enlisted in the United States Army in 1979. The funeral home proudly flies the United States Army flag in honor of Jim’s service to our country. Jim retired from Penfield Central School District after 30 years of service. In his spare time he was an avid hunter. Jim farmed his own land and was the owner of Jim-Bow’s Archery and Splat in Macedon and later at the family farm in Palmyra.

      Jim is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Sandy; children Chastity (Gregory) Bird, Chris (Katee) Rainbow and Willa Boening; siblings Debbie Gonshaw, Larry Boening, Connie DeCaire and Teresa Lamb; sisters-in-law Susan Narrow and Ruth VanGorder; brother-in-law Floyd Baker; mother-in-law Carol Gillotte; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; many nieces, nephews and extended family members and countless friends.
